To be fair, this ego-centrism was spurned on by a well-meaning adult who did pull my mother aside after I stole the mic at a wedding to sing a song from the Disney classic, The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I got it into my head when I was in second grade that I was a singing prodigy.ĭear Reader, I am not, was not, and will never be a singing prodigy.
